An AI agent that works in your process server software
Every serve request arrives as an email or a PDF, and someone re-keys it before a server can go out. This page describes a use case.
Can an AI agent stop a process serving company from re-keying every service request?
Yes, and that is the first task to hand over. The agent works in your process serving software. It reads each law-firm request as it arrives by email or PDF and creates the job. It drafts affidavits and status updates from field notes, and holds anything doubtful for review. It never serves papers, never signs and never attests.
Where the hours go, before and after the serve
For a process serving company, the field work is only part of the job. Before a server goes out, a request from a law firm has to become a job. Parties, addresses, documents, deadlines and special instructions are all read from an email or a PDF. Then they are typed into your system.
After the attempts, the paperwork runs the other way. Field notes become an affidavit or return of service. The affidavit gets checked, then filed electronically where the court allows it. And the law-firm client expects a status update, often by email, often more than once.
It is a national profession with a strong professional body. The National Association of Professional Process Servers has well over 2,000 members representing all 50 states. Many of them repeat the same desk work, request after request.
ServeManager and other process server software organize jobs, servers and invoices well. They still depend on someone to carry facts in from the client’s email and back out to the client. When volume rises, that person sets the limit on how many jobs you can take.
“NAPPS members assure a citizen’s right to due process and access to the legal system.”
What the agent takes over
- Service requests from law firms, read as they arrive by email or PDF. The job is created in your software with parties, addresses, documents and deadlines.
- Duplicate checks on parties and addresses before anything is saved. Doubtful matches are held for a person to decide.
- Affidavit and return-of-service drafts prepared from the server’s field notes and left for review.
- E-filing packets prepared where your jurisdiction and software support it. They are submitted only after a staff member approves them.
- Status updates to law-firm clients drafted from the job history. The answer to “was it served?” is ready before they ask.
- Invoices and job records kept in line with what actually happened in the field.
The closest case we have delivered is French
We have not delivered an agent to a US process serving company. We do not claim an existing integration with any US platform. Our reference comes from a nearby profession in France: the commissaire de justice. This court officer, formerly called huissier, serves legal documents and enforces judgments.
At one French enforcement-officer practice, an agent drives the practice’s closed desktop case software directly on screen. It handles the electronic case files a public agency sends in bulk. It brings in each file, removes duplicate parties, splits the files among case handlers and prepares the first document for service. Service itself stays with the sworn officers.
The pattern transfers. Requests arrive from outside and get re-keyed into a system with no easy way in. Then they turn into documents a human must stand behind. Before proposing anything, we would check on your own setup that the same approach works in your software.
What stays with your servers
The agent is installed in your environment, and your files stay stored on your machines. Only the text a task needs is sent to the AI model, over an encrypted connection.
The agent never serves papers, never signs and never attests. Service of process, sworn affidavits and court filings stay with your servers and staff, under the rules of each jurisdiction you work in.
It works under its own login in your software, with the least access it needs. Every action is logged, and a daily random check lets you verify what it did.
Pricing
From $1,700 per agent, then $170 per month for maintenance, plus applicable taxes.
An agent covers one task: intake, affidavit drafts or client updates. We scope it after a call and a look at a few real jobs. Your software stays as it is.
Frequently asked questions
Does the agent work inside ServeManager, or replace it?
It works inside it. The agent uses your existing software under its own login, the way a staff member would. Your team keeps working in it as before. We confirm that it works on your own account before any commitment.
Can an AI agent draft an affidavit of service from field notes, with a human check before filing?
Yes, and the human check is not optional. The agent prepares the affidavit or return of service from the server’s notes. The server reviews and signs it. Nothing is filed without a staff member’s approval.
Does the agent handle e-filing and status updates automatically?
It prepares both. E-filing packets are built where your jurisdiction and software support it. Status updates to law-firm clients are drafted from the job history. Your staff approve before anything is filed or sent.
What compliance rules (FDCPA, TCPA) apply when an AI agent handles service requests?
That depends on your activity, your jurisdictions and each type of message. It is a question for your counsel, not for a software provider. We make no compliance claim for the agent. We document exactly what it does. As described here, it drafts documents and client updates for your staff to approve.
Walk us through one serve request, start to finish.
A thirty-minute call on US mornings. We will tell you plainly if an agent can take the re-keying off your team’s desk.
